Tradesmen never get back to me

Has anyone else experienced this it can't just be me. It's so difficult to find a tradesman to some decorating. I've had s different ones who have come for a quote but none of them got back to me. They don't even reply when you chase them. And a few others who said they will call me the following day about coming to do a quote and I haven't heard back from them. Is this normal?

They often don't want to take on small jobs in my experience. How much work did you want doing?

I'm wanting a full makeover of my living room and stairs. From skirting boards to doors and handrails everything. That's not small.

If its just one room and a staircase, it is pretty small. I'd just keep chasing if i were you.

You’re not alone. It’s very frustrating but I guess the good ones can pick and choose.
I just wish they’d say they’re too busy/not interested right at the start.

Yes it happens a lot where I am too. They either don't get back with a quote or they overprice it if they don't really want the job anyway. Ask around and be persistent and you should find someone in the end. It's frustrating thought

That's quite a few different skills needed. . Try getting any electrical work done, then the wood part (carpenter), then the decorating. Might be easier?
