Show me your cloakrooms! (paint colour suggestions)

Looking to finally break away from the bleh magnolia that has graced the walls of our tiny downstairs toilet for years. The room has zero natural light and beigy tile work. DH keeps voting down my colour suggestions so far and says they're too dark for the space. He wants to go for an almost white colour but that seems so boring. Any suggestions?

Do the tiles fully cover the walls or half way up? If half way up you could paint the tiles and wallpaper the tip half. On pinterest I saw an amazing cloakroom that had deep green tiles bottom half and vibrant green dark and leafy wallpaper. Was so beautiful but you'd have to be brave (I'm not, sadly).

No, the tiles only surround the tiny corner sink, so a minimal aspect of the room.

I think with cloakrooms you can be really bold.

In our last house we had this wallpaper: www.andrewmartin.co.uk/wallpaper/traveller-putty. I love maps anyway, and it's a nice way to while away the time on the loo 😂.

In our current house, the previous owners had panelling to waist height, and we papered above, quick fix:

I'm currently obsessed with this wallpaper (tonnes of colour variations) and trying to find a room for it. Would be amazing in a loo. www.farrow-ball.com/wallpaper/lotus

This is mine. Natural light very restricted due to a house built right outside the window but we did lighten it with white tiles. Wall colour is Smoke by Autentico and the sink vanity is Laura Ashley

Ours is done in tranquil dawn. Its quite dark as only has tiny north west facing room. We had it white before and it was jorribly dull and dingy in there. The green looks lovely.

Following for ideas. Ours doesn’t have half height tiles or panelling unfortunately so a bold colour is going to be more overwhelming! Even so, I’m considering a deep yellow or bold green, in eggshell

Thank you for the ideas! Will brainstorm a few more ideas this weekend.

This is the same colour as ours, and a very similar layout. It looks lovely in the small space and really lifts the room.

AmandaHugenkiss, that colour is really lovely! We have it in our main family bath upstairs.

So, after a few samples, Dh and I have decided to go with a greenish colour--Dulux Mint Macaroon. Stay tuned..

Post some pics when you are done! I love seeing other people’s decorating projects. 😁
