We're in the early stages of planning a new kitchen. No knock through or extension - just reconfiguring the current space. I have the first designer coming out next week to measure, chat and then come up with a plan. We definitely need more cupboard space and I love the look of some tall units.
We currently have a freestanding kitchen table against one wall with three seats and a highchair. It's me, DH and DS, although we hope to have another child in the future.
Obviously I'm no kitchen designer but given the dimensions I don't reckon we will be able to fit in the extra storage we need and our current table and chairs.
I have seen some Pinterest pictures of peninsulas with stool seating which look good. I am however concerned about how taller bar seating would work with a very active toddler who doesn't sit still and/or a highchair should we need to use one again. Our dining room is through two doors from the kitchen so I'm really keen to have some form of seating for us in our kitchen whilst we have young kids.
Does anyone have photos they could share of a peninsula working with a highchair? Or does anyone have a lowered peninsula table attached to units?
Thanks
