Anybody Painted Pebbledash?

Just that really.
We have terrible pebbledash on our house (and I hate the windows too) it needs rendering but we have a lot going on inside so it's a job for later.

Having the guttering painted later this month and I thought about maybe getting the pebbledash painted too?
I have seen a few locally they're hit and miss...

Has anyone got old pebbledash painted and can you share your pics and experience please?

Thanks in advance. D

Ours is painted. We just do it ourselves every few years. It’s not difficult, but obviously depends on the height involved!

Thanks for your reply. What does it look like and what colour have you gone for? X

We’re going to do ours at some point. A house down the road has been done in cream, it looks great. We’ll be going for a creamy white too. Just a matter of getting around to it!

I was thinking creamy white too as white looks a little too harsh on the ones I've seen.
Im in a semi detached. There's only four houses and they're all pebbledashed the same. Do you think they'll be annoyed ?

I saw one of our neighbours doing this recently with a spray gun thingy but pebbledash is so tricky I wonder what the coverage would be like and if it would be a bloody nightmare to do!

Ours is a creamy white colour. Probably a good idea to do yours a colour that doesn’t clash with neighbours!

It’s a pain to do-we used a roller with a long pile, some parts were easy other bits were awful to get into. Once you’ve painted it you’ll need to repaint it every few years. If you’ve high bits and it needs scaffold that would be expensive, but if you can just do it yourself with a stepladder then it’s more manageable.

Ours was painted already when we bought the house. Otherwise I’d be very certain that you want to bother!

There’s specialist coloured coatings you can have applied, but I don’t know anything much about these.

Thank you 😊

Ours is painted ivory and it looks so much better than the awful brown pebbledash we had before! Our next door neighbour has ivory rendering and it looks almost the same at first glance. We had it done three years ago and it still looks new.
