Can someone please tell me if this is skirting? It doesn't mention the word skirting hence the confusion lol..

Isn't architrave the stuff that goes round doorways? (Disclaimer: definitely not a DIY expert Grin)

Heismyopendoor · 21/07/2020 18:48

Yeah, architrave is for round windows and doors.

It's in the skirting board section of their website and it looks like skirting to me so I'm voting yes Smile

I agree with juju about it being architrave for around a door frame rather than skirting. Am also no DIY expert though. Grin.

It doesn't seem tall enough for skirting to me somehow. It's only 7cm or so. Isn't skirting generally taller?

itbemay1 · 21/07/2020 18:56

It's not skirting, it's architrave for around doors etc

ShellieEllie · 21/07/2020 18:57

Not skirting as not tall enough, it's for a door frame.

Devlocopop · 21/07/2020 18:59

7cm isn't tall enough unless you have a minimalist 1970s skirting which was just bullnose shape at my parent's house, ie just rounded off on top rather than square.

Skirting is usually 11cm or higher or 119mm on Travis Perkins from a brief glance.

Architrave is the vertical trim that goes around a door to hide where the door lining (the pieces that line the inside of the door frame) meets the plasterboard.
