Foldaway coffee table

Our living room is too small for a coffee table but we could really do with one.

The kitchen/diner is on a different floor and it's just not practical for all the dcs meals and snacks to be eaten there so we use a manky old picnic blanket and I'm fed up with it.

I remember seeing a foldaway coffee table of a decent size on habitat a while back which I thought would be perfect but it had quite a big lip on it as it was butler tray style. Thought this would be a pain for colouring in and the like so have kept half an eye out for something similar but not seen anything.

Can anyone help? Budget is on the low side. Would like it to look ok so I don't end up feeling the same as I do about the manky picnic matt!

Search instead for a tv table and get a couple of them. There are some at dunelm.

That's an idea - was hoping it could be coffee table sized to get used to the idea of having one and for serving picky food on too though.

Just had a look and they're too high actually.

Ah so you are looking for a low coffee table fold away one. Kind of like just below the height of the base of a couch rather than higher? I’m still looking for one and I’ll let you know if I find the holy grail.

Yes that's the one Louise - the habitat one is the only one I've seen and they don't even do that anymore.

Or Maby a low foldable camping table? Not that stylish but practical.

This looks like it would have been really easy to make fold away Sad

Thanks propserus I didn't see your posts. Amazed youved found one but it looks so chunky I'd probably struggle to hide it once folded. It doesn't look great either...I'm picky sorry!

That is bloody perfect and very cheap! Hopefully that won't translate to flimsy, but we could probably reinforce the boltings or something.
