Help with finding curtains.

Hi,

I'm looking for some help with getting some curtains for my bedroom.

I've been looking to buy some curtains online and majority of them seem to be blackout and blackout/ thermal ones.

I'm struggling to find ones that let in about 50-75% of light.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and when it's morning or I have a nap during the day it really helps to have curtains that let in light so I don't become disoriented whether it's day or night when I wake up.

I've looked at made to measure but they are massively out of my price range.

I'm looking for curtains that let in 50-75% of light and are navy blue.

Measurements:

Hight: 52inch
132.08cm
Width: 65inch
167.64cm

I'm looking at a budget of up to £80.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

I think you’ll find most ready males will let a good bit of light in as fabric will be quite thin. Have you tried Dunelm? My daughter got some from there. Next are ok for ready made.

I’m the opposite, I like mine really thick. Don’t like blackout lining as I think it hangs funny

Ikea have a range of curtains called Vilborg that are 'room darkening' rather than blackout. To be honest, I have a set of their blackout curtains and they definitely don't cut out all the light, not even close! As @NHSEA mentioned most ready made curtains blackout curtains won't give you a pitch black room anyway.

Any ready made light coloured unlined curtains will do it op

I'd go with ready mades, and maybe consider removing the lining if you want even more light coming through?

Look up www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/ you can see all their fabric online and they will make to your specifications and they do readymades too. They will deliver to your home as well as having two shops and workshops where they do all the sewing - one in Stoke on Trent and the other Stockport if you're near they're open to the public. I've used them several times and have been very pleased with the service

Could you use a paler colour? Dark blue won’t let as much light through, even if flimsy and unlined.
