Sofa colour help!

Hi, could I ask opinions on a sofa colour choice? We have dulux polished pebble walls, may end up papering a feature wall but not sure what colours that would involve as yet or if we will even have a feature wall 🤷‍♀️We have light oak solid wood flooring which is being sanded and varnished (likely clear). Our living room furniture is a shabby chic style off white with oak coloured tops.

Ideally we would like leather as so easy to keep clean with young children, however I wonder if this will be too 'cold' looking and a fabric sofa may being a bit of warmth to the room? Previously we had neutral tones (mink, cream). Which all fitted in with the oak furniture perfectly.

Any advice on what colour sofa or any recommendations of ones that are easy(ier) to keep clean.

Thank you

Ooh I see what you mean, polished pebble is a nice colour but it can look quite vast depending on how you style out the rest of the room.

I personally prefer fabric to leather because it looks 'softer' and more cosy but I totally support you wanting leather because of the kids. Could you not buy an off white leather furniture or a light grey but use throws and cushions to sort of soften it all up.

Also depends on if you have carpet or hard floors.

@StressedMom4 I totally agree about the fabric vs leather. We currently have a chenille mink coloured sofa and whilst it is very comfy it was brought before children when we would spend many a Sunday's lazying around! Not much of that happens now! And it's awful with a 4 year old, 1 year old and a cat to contend with!
We have solid wood flooring, which is being sanded. I would say it's light oak and we plan on varnishing with a clear finish so that it stays light.

The oak floor and furniture went brilliantly with the mink/cream tones. I'm wondering if I should introduce a colour with some warmth? We probably would use throws on leather as i personally find leather cold in the winter and hate sticking in the summer. Having said that I do think leather is the way forward. I had also started considering light grey,... really don't want it to look blue though 😬

We have an opening through to the kitchen/diner/ which has large light grey tiles throughout to the back of the house. So perhaps light grey would be a good option. I think we will need to break up the polished pebble on the walls with a papered/wall possibly... who knows!

Thank you
