Victorian house new front door

We currently have a wooden front door that is rotten/with broken panes of glass. We are going to be replacing it with another wooden door. What style would you go for to be 'in keeping' with a Victorian property? Needs to have some glass to let some light into the hallway. House is painted white with black window sills. Is this ok, or is it too fancy for the period? Would probably paint it black to tie in with the rest of the house. All opinions welcome. (This is the final stages of a long renovation so simply don't have the funds for a composite door)

Love it and yes I'd paint it black to watch the window bits x

The best thing about a wooden door, is you can repair and repaint indefinitely! If cared for it will last longer than any composite or UPVC door. And you can choose a new colour whenever you like!

That's a good point, hadn't thought of that!
