Candles - but not for lighting

Does anyone else have candles in the house that aren’t for lightning?
I mentioned this to a friend that I have candles for lighting and candles for decoration and she thought it was a bit nutty.
Generally don’t light more expensive/prettier ones.
Surely I can’t be the only one?!

I might hold out but eventually they'll get lit... They get too dusty and lose their scent otherwise! Then you can make way for new ones.

I've been to a couple houses where there were candles on the table that were never lit. Always thought it was weird.

My large neom one doesn’t get lit. I bought the neom diffuser pod though and I do use this since it doesn’t feel like you’re wasting something nice in the same way that it cdm when you burn a candle

I do!! I have lots of lovely scented candles that we light and some tall white I scented ones that I keep on the mantle piece because I like the way they look! Happy to be considered wierd!

I have some big church candles and went through a phase of never lighting them. I then realised that they were getting dusty, and I refuse to dust candles, so now I light them periodically.

The scent on an unlit candle will fade surprisingly quickly. It’s more wasteful to leave it languishing unlit than to burn it and enjoy it.

I'm sure my 74 yo mum still has some of my teen "too good to light" candles in a box in her home. She's a hoarder.
