Bookshelves in toilet yay or nay (cookbooks btw)?

We have a lot of cookbooks which I want to put on shelves but we have nowhere in our kitchen to put shelves except the wall facing you as you walk in which is also visible from the front door so I don't want them there as they will look messy, and it's also where the xmas tree goes. DH suggested shelves in our downstairs loo which is between the kitchen and utility and a good size, and 2 shelves would easily go above the shelf thing where the cistern is built in for the toilet iyswim? It feels icky to me, but I'm not sure if I'm being daft? They'd be way above any splash zone even for the most 'artful' men so logically fine hygiene wise but ......... just feels wrong to me, opinions please? TIA

I’m a bookworm and will read anywhere… So I would say yes ha ha Ha my house is spilling over with Books…

There were always books in the loo when I grew up. What else did you do when pooing in the 90s?! But it was more a stack of books beside the loo. I used to keep some magazines in our loo but I usually just take my phone now. I might bring that back though!

I think cooking books are a bit weird though - can you put them elsewhere and move 'loo books' in there instead? You know, the kind of thing you can dip in and out of during a heavy sesh!

Poo crumbs

Magazine; no issue. Because the next stop is the recycling bin, not the kitchen.

Yuk ! Any kind of book in a loo is gross !

personally I wouldnt, it's just a dust collector and feel like its very unhygenic

I would think it was an elaborate and bizarre joke. But I have a weird sense of humour.
