Front porch inspo

In a nutshell my front porch is awful and I'm starting to think of what I can do with it.

I have no original design ideas at all so my usual modus operandi is to just find stuff I like on Pinterest or insta and then copy.

For the porch though everything I'm searching is bringing up the US style beautiful outdoor veranda type thing when what I really mean is the shitty sort of rectangle tiny room stuck of the front of your house.

Do we have another name for them here that I hadn't realised? Is there a different hashtag I should be searching? Can anyone point me in the direction of a nice UK style porch before I start wishing I had an American one with a rocking chair or swing seat to while away my evenings!

You could try searching for tiny entry or entryways. Although you’ll still get images of massive spaces!

I did a very quick google and have attached a couple of the pics that came up.

I have the same dilemma - we have a horrible upvc one - DH won't let me knock it down and start again so I was thinking about painting the door back and changing tbe hardware. A new pendant black light, new black and white tiles and also painting the front door black. I do want a boot cupboard in there too.
Then need security lights and a new door number.
I don't looove black and white theme, but just think it will give it a striking look.

Was thinking of finding plants to put in my porch. There were some awesome coloured doors on Pinterest, but as the poster above I like black and white (soft black and soft white) so will see what colour I can add with plants.

I've always wanted a porch, just to fill with fairy lights and put a Christmas Tree in. Not helpful I know,
