Spruce up my office

We've been told that we have to work from home till January, so I've deicded that I want to spruce up my office and make it less bland & boring !!
My main problem is that the room is north-facing, so gets little natural light. Ideally I would love to paint the corner a nice strong colour, like a teal or a sage, add some floating shelves on the right hand wall, change up the artwork, but I'm worried about the paint color being too dark for a dark room ? Will I end up feeling like I'm working in a dark cave ??

There's an app dulux have where you can put the paint on a picture of
Your wall and see how it looks! I think you could certainly handle a nice rich colour like sage. Teal etc may be a little dark

You could paint just the one wall on which you want to hang the shelves. Given the slope of the ceiling I think it look very nice. You'd get a pop of colour but still keep an overall lighter feeling.

Go for it, I think sage would be lovely. Also is your laptop propped on a box? You can get some fairly cheap laptop riser stands on amazon. What about a plant on your desk, or at the side. Definitely worth making the area as comfortable as you can!

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo , yeah that's a jigsaw box I stole from the DC :D . I definitely need a few bits like a laptop stand, a nice desk organiser for pens/cables etc. Plant is a good idea too.

I was looking at paint colors last night, and I've actually pivoted a little bit - I like the look of dulux lagoon falls - exact opposite of what I was originally thinking !
