Bi-Folds or Similar?

Thinking of getting some bi-folding doors between dining area/garden and been advised to go for the aluminium ones only. Someone else said to go for Smart System
sliding doors as bi-folds are temperamental and cause lots of issues. We don't have a massive area so the smart systems would mean having a middle frame on display without v large glass panels either side which I don't really want. Our door space is only 1.73m wide. Thoughts & experiences on either or alternatives please & costs, thanking you

Bifolds aren't popular on MN and I am usually one of their rare cheerleaders because we love ours, but for a 1.73m opening I don't really see the point. In your position I'd investigate french doors with 180º hinges so that they can open all the way and still give you a fully open doorway.
