So we are moving house soon ( myself and three dc ages 15/13/4) and the master bedroom comes with fitted light pine wardrobes - first pic . I was intending to take the master bedroom as have the most stuff and also share with my four year old ( we can't afford a four bed and my SN dd 15 needs her own room ). However not long ago I invested in a lovely new dark brown / black hemnes bed which goes with my dark brown chest of drawers and wardrobe ( old and inexpensive and don't have to take) and there would be a massive clash with the black bed and light wood furniture .pic of my bed attached .

The other option would be to give dd 15 the master bedroom . She currently has a white frame bed which would go better with it ( but also a triple white wardrobe and chest of drawers which i would then have to sell or leave ).

Then for me to take the smaller room - second pic and fit my darker bed , wardrobe and chest of drawers . Looks like a significantly smaller room though .

Any thoughts ? Love my bed so not negotiable getting rid of it . Could I have the light wood stained ? Or would the clashing wood colours not be so bad ?

You can paint or stain the units any colour you want. But I think the contrast between the woods is large enough that it will be fine.

I think it will look fine. Have white sheets and coloured cushions with coloured curtains to match?
