Stylish and tasteful

Spending lots of time over lockdown in my home which my husband and I have had renovated and decorated from top to bottom over the past year. I am really enjoying this time to enjoy our home which is as we want it finally and I feel so peaceful when I am in it. This has got me thinking that what I enjoy and find tasteful etc, may not be someone else's. So what do you look for in a forever home done up just as you would like?

Beautiful art on the walls. Mixture of contemporary and old furniture - not everything new. Texture, pattern and colour.

I follow William Morris's maxim 'don't have anything in your home you don't know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.'

I was going to write a proper reply but Bouledeneige has said everything I would say, except that I like more old furniture / antiques on balance, with a few modern pieces to accent.

Restful neutral/pale pastel colours
No huge tv on the wall
Original features if it's a period house

I like white walls, mid-century modern furniture and books.
