What goes with yellow curtains?

I've bought some mustard coloured curtains to brighten up a sitting room, I have yellow cushions and a throw - any other ideas on what I can include? Rug in new so don't want to replace that - maybe a picture?

Thanks

Accessories only? Yes, artwork or a nice mirror, lamps or light shade? Vase, flowers?

Teal or chocolate brown or green?

Teabaseddiet · 14/05/2020 22:30

Thanks! Yes, sorry should have made it clearer, thinking about accessories. Other colours are chocolate brown and some dark blue, so ysing the yellow to brighten it up a bit.
I think. One yellow artwork would be good, but I'll need to find something I like (I'm very picky).

Suggestions welcome!

Scuse the mess, I don't have yellow curtains but do have some accessories. The artwork is by Scott Naismith who does colourful Scottish landscapes. It's all personal taste though. I saw Next had some colourful Frida kallo portraits.

They are lovely (& that is not a mess!).
Thanks!

Thanks and good luck with your search. This is the mirror we have, it's made from recycled magazines and is quite colourful too, I like a bit of colour incase you hadn't noticed. Grin

I think with yellow , blue would look nice - all a bit Monet - so perhaps a blue lamp shade or blue cushions - am sure it is lovely

You don't want too much yellow, otherwise it all gets too matchy matchy. With yellow curtains I'd maybe have a single small yellow vase or a blue vase with yellow flowers or a carefully positioned book or detail on something else (e.g. yellow piping on a blue cushion, or yellow legs on a sofa or the edge of the door painted yellow) and some yellow in a artwork.

teal or a nice bold royal blue maybe? yellow and blue are gorgeous together. You could use some shades e.g. ochre, navy, bold royal blue etc. Dark teal is lovely!

Lampshade for a side lamp maybe?

And definitely some art!

Emerald green looks nice with mustard yellow. I've just revamped one of the boys rooms with white, emerald green and mustard.

I agree with CountFosco less is more.
