Painting with paint that has gone off- help!

I painted one bedroom wall with dulux emulsion which I think must have gone off ( I bought it in 2017) as 2 days later it still smells foul. Not sure whether I should try and remove the paint off the wall it paint over. What is best health wise? Any ideas?!

In the past, I have used dilute sodium hypochlorite (commercial bleach) to remedy the problem. Provided it is sponged on cleanly, it may prevent the need to repaint.
If that doesn't work the next solution is to paint the walls with Zinseer to seal the walls sealant, and then recoat the walls with emulsion as before.
I hope this helps

Thank you - a week on it still smells , I am going to use the bleach solution you have suggested ( carefully) I don’t care if I need to repaint I would just like to know that all the ‘bad’ stuff in the paint has gone

The reason I ask is I read this the other day, the answer from Valspar may be of interest?
