Trundle bed

Hi, I'm looking to get a bed for a spare room. I want a single that can be converted into a double for guests. It would be for an adult, but would live in a nursery so potentially some kind of daybed or a single bed with another that slots underneath could be good. Can anyone recommend one that they have slept on that is comfy please, and hopefully not mega expensive? I've slept on the Ikea Hemnes daybed but it gave me a bad back. Thanks if you can help!

How about a fold up Murphy bed? Hideaway beds do one called Diva.

We used to have one like this - the trundle popped up to the same height as a single bed. trundle

We now have the Hemnes daybed - I think with all beds, its usually the quality of the mattress that makes the difference. The IKEA mattresses for the Hemnes bed aren't great to be honest, but if you invest in good quality mattresses that fit (we bought pocket sprung mattresses elsewhere to fit), it makes all the difference. I think for a genuine day bed, plus the amount of storage it offers, its very hard to beat.
