Anyone used F&B De Nimes?

Hello - thinking of painting a bedroom this colour, just wondering if anyone has used it and if you like it? Seems like a nice not-too-dark but not-too-light shade of greyish-blue. I love these heritage type colours generally. Thanks!

I used it but didn't like it as it's actually a lot darker in real life than it looks on Instagram etc. It's quite a grey colour, well it was in my house. I'd defo get a tester pot as I think in some rooms it will look quite dark Smile

Thanks, I did wonder if it might be darker - have ordered a tester of this and also Oval Room Blue. Cheers for replying.

Little Green Juniper Ash might fit the bill, too.

I was going to use De Nimes in my bedroom but it looked too battleship grey for my taste so I went for Inchyra Blue teamed with Light Blue. Oval Room Blue is another lovely colour that was on my list but I wanted something moody and darker.

Interesting - I have a lot of Downpipe in my house because I love it, be curious to see if the De Nimes is too similar.

I have Downpipe in one of the bathrooms. Love it. I would say that De Nimes is lighter but also rather flat and dull. A bit like a grey primer. Of course with F&B it will depend on the light in the room you intend to use it in.

trulyconfuseddotcom · 08/05/2020 14:25

Cheers @Belindabelle, I await my samples impatiently! It's a smallish room with a big southeast facing window so may be too dark - we'll see...

I think oval room blue will turn out to be a nice colour, good luck x

trulyconfuseddotcom · 08/05/2020 18:36

Thanks @sarahc336, needs to ‘tone’ nicely with existing grey/yellow soft furnishings so here’s hoping one of them looks right!

My samples arrived yesterday! The darker blue is Denimes. Ours is quite a dark room, so we’re leaning towards the oval room blue next to it instead.

Anyone used F&B De Nimes?
trulyconfuseddotcom · 08/05/2020 20:22

Ooh, that's handy @Tigger03 - thanks! The Oval Room looks really nice there. But the De Nimes looks great with the pinkish colour next to it!

Ha yes - I keep changing my mind about what I want where!

Looks really greeny (east facing small room). Was a bit disappointed as we had green smoke in study before and I had wanted a change.

Hi @PamDemic - I don't think I want brighter, definitely something a bit more muted. But cheers for the suggestion and the De Nimes feedback - it's good to know you like it and it's not greeny for you.

I've just painted our bedroom in oval room blue. I love it and my husband who usually hates any colours darker than off white likes it too. I find it quite soothing and calm.

trulyconfuseddotcom · 19/05/2020 13:29

Sadly they both look too green in the bedroom in question - back to the drawing board! Thanks everyone.

I'd second the PP who suggested little Greene juniper ash. Absolutely no green in it at all.

trulyconfuseddotcom · 19/05/2020 15:53

Thanks - had a look at the Little Green site and quite liking Stone Blue, interesting...
