I’m always the same, renovate a room, get it 90% complete then never get round to finishing it off. 3 years ago we renovated the family bathroom and I’m happy with the suite, tiles and wall colour but I never got round to giving it any personality. With lockdown I’m working my way around the house and trying to finish rooms off but I need some inspiration.

The blind was a temporary fix from DD’s nursery and I think I want to replace it with an oversized botanicals print (mainly green?). Plus I want some quirky colourful pictures on the walls, some shelves(?) on the chimney breast next to the loo, more plants(?), something colourful on the window sill. My Pinterest board is as confused as I am. Any ideas, especially online places to get some interesting art.

I think you’ve answered you own question.
You’ve got this - it will be fab!

TattiePants · 04/05/2020 19:45

@NoNamesNoPackDrillHere I think the problem is I've changed my mind so many times in the last 3 years that I've got too many individual ideas but no overall plan. For once, Pinterest is making it worse!

I also spent house scouring all the online house shops I could think of at the weekend but didn't find anything that grabbed me.

What’s your budget?
I can throw some ideas in the morning - will check back in morning.
Totally get you on the too many ideas, DH says I should be just shown 2 choices, It’s so easy to get overwhelmed!

TattiePants · 04/05/2020 20:58

Thanks, that would be great. I don't have a budget at such, currently looking at Cole & Sons fabric at £200/m but equally happy with Dunelm.

I'd recommend blinds2go, measure yourself, easy to fit and you can send for as many samples as you like.

Fy for art? Although you'll see a lot of their prints on insta so not really unique if that's what you're looking for.

Cox & cox for shelving?

EarringsandLipstick · 04/05/2020 21:02

Just jumping on to say I LOVE this bathroom @TattiePants! It's exactly what I want for my own bathroom (tho I wouldn't have the space for a free standing bath). I think you're spot on about changing the blind, and a few prints / nicely framed family photos would work great too.

It's fab!

TattiePants · 04/05/2020 21:16

I'll check those out @strandedatthedrivein, thanks. Funny you should suggest Cox & Cox for shelves. I had these pinned on Pinterest but they have long since sold out.

Thanks @EarringsandLipstick, I am really happy with it but it it just feels a bit too bland at the minute.

Beautiful bathroom, op. Where the vanity unit and bath from?

TattiePants · 06/05/2020 15:40

Thank you @flirtygirl. The unit is from Tikamoon although we did cut the back off as it was a bit too deep for what we wanted. The bath is huge as I can happily lie there for hours and is from Bathstore.

@TattiePants
Well I fell down a rabbit hole yesterday! Was also going to suggest Cox and Cox, as have bought quite a few things from them. When I saw posts was convinced I could find you those shelves which work. Spent a lot of time, and might have bookmarked lots of things I need Wink Sadly not for you though.

How about 3 shelves from Tikamoon - they would match your sink and could stagger, or 3 different shaped boxes (there are a few different sizes from Cox and Cox?
Have you narrowed down blind material?

TattiePants · 06/05/2020 18:49

@nonamesnopackdrillhere aw thank you So much for looking but they were probably discontinued years ago. I’m glad you found some things for yourself, definitely treat yourself.

I’d originally discounted Tikamoon shelves as they are too wide to go on the chimney breast but I think I’ll Get them and put them to the right of the mirror. At least the wood will match the unit. I then just need to find lovely things to put on them!

I think I’ve narrowed down the print I want for the blind so I now need to look at fabric websites and see if I can get some samples sent. Failing that, I’ve got a great fabric shop nearby so I’ll just wait until that reopens.

I love your bathroom.

I think you are on the right track with your ideas for blinds. Get them first then think about some coloured towels. Shades of green or maybe hot pink or orange.

How about some narrow gallery shelves in white or oak then you can change the artwork when you fancy without leaving marks on the wall. Most are deep enough to take a candle or diffuser.

I like Graham and Green and Rockett St George for this kind of thing.

boobmoob · 08/05/2020 14:07

Looks great, I would go for wooden shelves to match the unit and bit different to the industrial look.

I also would go for a plain blind in a colour & put a huge print of botanicals either behind toilet or opposite. Could do 2 instead of 1 big one & use wallpaper if you fancy. Might give it a bit longevity & cheaper to switch up.
