Patchy gloss paint NEED ADVICE!

So in my lockdown merriment i decided to paint my front door. I used an oil based primer and then used a spray gloss black paint on top. The colour coverage is great and im happy with that BUT the gloss is really patchy and it makes the door look awful. If i bought a clear varnish to paint on top (not a spray paint, never again!) Would that fix the patchy gloss problem?

I'd repaint it with black gloss paint and a brush.

You have probably not shaken the can enough. If you want a high gloss finish, look for a liquid gloss and apply a couple of thin coats with a foam mini roller.

If the black is patchy, a clear varnish isnt going to improve the colour. It needs another coat of black. Brush or roller if you aren't spraying again (I'd be tempted to spray it if you still have paint in the can tho)

I'd try another coat of paint too. Step away from the varnish.

Yeah don't put another coat over it as once you've varnished it you won't be able to then paint over it without having to sand all that off which I think would be a nightmare. I'd try either another coat of the spray or use a paint with a small foam rolller xx
