Furniture polish build up

On my dining table has made it look dull and there are matt dull patches everywhere!! Read a tip on using tea but has made it look worse!!
It's mango wood so quite dark any advice to remove build up appreciated

This seems to suggest you shouldn’t use polish? Did it say anything about care instructions when you bought it?

Not sure if this would make it worse or not tbh
