Are they worth the money? I love the look but ....yikes they are pricey. Some have terrible reviews on which, some have great.

I am a bit stuck as I want a cream retro fridge freezer. It is either a gorenji ( a make I have never heard of) or a smeg. There is about £800 difference in cost.

We do have a smeg budgeted for but I am struggling to spend that much on a fridge freezer.

I have a gorenji; it's fab. I was too tight to splash out on the Smeg Blush

We have a swan... Also too tight for the Smeg!

We have a Smeg at work & I hate it.

I like the look of them on the outside, but that's where it stops

The door alarm goes off after about 2 seconds and is INCREDIBLY irritating putting shopping away is torture.

It's the biggest one they do, but a lot if the space is list in the depth of the doors & sides.

I'd save the £800 & give the other one a go.

Shame you want a retro cream one as I highly recommend the Bosch I just bought, but it's S/s.

Good luck!

I love the look of the Smeg but I couldn't bear looking at the word "Smeg" every time i went into the kitchen Blush

We had a Gorenje washing machine and it lasted 6 months, the shop ended up replacing it with an Indesit one because they'd had a few complaints about the Gorenje. I don't know about fridge freezers though.

Our 20-odd year old Whirlpool FF packed up at Christmas - we replaced it with a Beko American style one that I absolutely love - and the door alarm can be switched off with a button on the temperature panel so it doesn't drive me crackers when I'm putting the shopping away.

Please be wary with smeg . I had a new kitchen fitted in December , all new appliances . 2 smeg ovens, hob and extractor fan have all had issues already.

I have a Swan too. Much prefer the look of them, I find smegs a bit (sorry) naff/tacky.

Don't do it - expensive, NOT frost free and need defrosting far too regularly. The parts are so expensive, and break quite regularly. I've bought more drawer fronts than I can recall.

Smug but regretful is more appropriate.

Thank you all so much. Food for thought here and I think my slight reservations have been confirmed as fully reserved now!

@Thisismytimetoshine which one do you have? The model I am looking at gets a poor score for freezing on Which. The ORK193C.

We've had our SMEG for over 10 years and it's never given any trouble. They are expensive though.
