Splash back for the wall behind the bin?

We have painted the kitchen and the worst bit was by the bin where my darling family lob stuff and it sometimes hits the wall.
I was thinking of a splash back or tiles but I can’t tile and really just want it protecting. Kitchen is quite dated now Ruth beige/ green and cream tiles. Can’t afford to change those so what can I do? Ideas welcome please!

Those stick on tiles? Amazon sells them.

Or contact paper roll even cheaper pick a design you like or even clear for the wall area behind bin.

Someone on a kitchen thread had a OS map as their hob splash back. It was fabulous.

Ooh was it stickyback contact paper? Or diy style
Would be waaayy cheaper than glass they in the hundreds. What about glossy or wipe able paint that can wipe clean
as splashback.
Got me rethinking about glass now hmm save money for better stuff than wall.

If you’re talking to me Tinkerpony (and I truly don’t mean that to sound sarky), I think the map was printed on to glass... or something. I’ve tried to find the actual thread, but can’t.

Contact paper sounds good. Can’t find tiles which would blend. Can find stick on ones I love but I need a new kitchen built around them as is often my feeling when I want to change something. I get an urge to change the whole room!

It really hard to pick which green as they dont have physical samples of colours only on paper. Hard to decide as colour on paper can be different in real life.

Have a piece of glass cut to the correct size. Paint the back in whatever colour you like and attach to wall with glue for mirrors.
