Thanks for everyone who helped me with my lounge, DP is now going to tackle our bedroom.
We have a beige carpet and cream curtains and all the furniture is creamy white so we really need a colour as the walls are magnolia at the moment. The bed has pewter on the head and foot board.
I can't choose a colour as it is not something I am very good with so has anyone got any ideas please?

Well a sage green would go, we have used dulux tranquil Dawn in our house at the end of the year (before I knew it was colour of the year) and it would go although has slight grey tint to it. Johnstones have one called natural sage that my sister in law has in her bedroom with creams and it looks lovely and fresh.
If you really don't want any colour dulux timeless is recommended on here alot.

@YorkshireTea86 thanks I will certainly look at those options, hadn't really thought of sage but it is pretty

Sage is a very relaxing coulor, perfect for bedrooms and adding some plants would make it really lovely.

Cantdecidewhich · 15/04/2020 16:12

@HelloTerrance that sounds really nice

Or a really pale blue. Dulux heritage Clear Skies is lovely. F and B Pale Powder is also a lovely shade, very pale watery greeny blue colour.

Cantdecidewhich · 16/04/2020 13:17

#DMDaisy blue sounds nice but is it cold?

Which way does the room face? How light is it? What colour is your bedding? Do you have any cushions and if so what colour are they?

Sorry I haven’t actually given an answer but I think my answer depends on those questions.

Cantdecidewhich · 17/04/2020 09:32

#nestofvipers it is south facing and very light. Our bedding sets are all white backgrounds with soft colour flowers on so nothing jumps out, no cushions. Thanks for the reply

I’d go with dulux heritage silver fern (or something similar). It’s a lovely pale greeny blue which sometimes looks more green than blue and sometimes more blue than green depending on the light. I painted a south facing bedroom that colour (when it was previously magnolia with a beige carpet) and I was really pleased with the result. The white of your furniture and cream of your curtains will stand out nicely against the colour.

DMDaisy · 17/04/2020 15:52

No it's not cold at all. I have it in my kitchen and will post a pic when I can Smile

When I painted the bedroom silver fern, I almost went with clear skies which I also think is a lovely colour, but decided to go with something a bit less blue.

I spent absolutely ages (far too long) thinking about what colour to use as was convinced I’d get it wrong!

FurloughFliss · 18/04/2020 13:09

@ DMDaisy that is very pretty but I think a bit too strong for my room
thanks for showing me though (namechange bt the way :) )

@Nestofvipers I really like the Silver fern but is it very grey?

@YorkshireTea86 warming towards the tranquil skies now I think it looks lovely

This is so hard!!

IsolatedIzzy · 18/04/2020 14:04

I was looking for a dusty pink paint image to go with the bed but this looks lovely!

We went for Farrow & Ball Peignoir. It’s a grey purple/pink which I think works very well in a bedroom, especially with white, ivory & creams.

Love the peignoir. Is your bedroom north or south facing?

FurloughFliss · 18/04/2020 15:20

@ I really love the overly olive I have bought a match pot as worried it may be too dark, also bought the tranquil skies to try.
@User1775564212 that is beautiful, if the green doesn't look right I may try that next

Nestofvipers · 18/04/2020 15:30

@FurloughFliss. It’s not really grey at all. I was actually going to mention that in my previous post and say that it is not as grey as it looks on either the dulux heritage colour chart or on a screen!

User1775564212 · 18/04/2020 18:23

Bedroom is south facing. It generally looks more grey than the photos but the pink gives it a bit of warmth.

26weeksandcounting · 18/04/2020 18:31

We also have Peignoir in our bedroom and it's an absolutely lovely colour.

DMDaisy · 19/04/2020 06:53

Have a look at F and B Pale Powder op, I think it may be just what you're looking for.

friskybivalves · 19/04/2020 07:20

f&b Mizzle is also beautiful. It's a very calming but not at all chilly greeny grey. Don't be scared that it looks dark - it's very very gentle once up and everything looks good with it.

Yep that’s what I almost got the decorator centre to make up when I bought the silver fern. They’re more similar in reality than they appear on a paint chart.
