No room for a table

Hello, the house we're renting is way too small for a table (even a small 2-seater).
Does anyone have any good ideas for a makeshift table-type thing?
I've seen people have folded trays but I'm not a huge fan of them.
There may not be an answer, but can anyone share any ideas they have?

A fold out table, like a small camping table? Would there be enough room for one of those? You could just get it out each time you need it and put a nice tablecloth over it.

Did you see the wall picture that is a table and chairs?

We lived in a house like this for eleven years. We did use trays for space/cost reasons. We still use the trays despite now living in a house which has a table.

You can get over-chair or sofa tables inexpensively. You would still need space for them though. The fold up items that look good tend to be more expensive.

Alternatively do you have room for a high bench table and chairs? They take up less room than a table and chairs.

With any of those options if you move again you may want to sell on anything like this so well worth looking at second hand options.

You can get a coffee table that will rise to dinner table height or a table that folds flat against the wall (probably not if you are renting). If you have enough space you might be able to get a console table that could just about seats two.

trestle legs and a table top would be easy to put out of the way.
I think you can get trestles for about £5 in ikea.

Yes! So many good ideas that I didn't even realise were a possibility.
Thanks everyone, there's room for a narrow high-bench table with two stools! I think I've found the perfect one.
Thanks again! My back is forever grateful.
