Cheap alternative to blinds?

We have bifold doors onto a south facing garden which is great, but the glare into the room can be a bit much at the moment.

Ultimately we'd like to some decent blinds, but in the meantime is there anything else that would work and not look too hideous? I thought about voile panels on a long tension rod, but wasn't sure.

Any advice would be great - thanks!

IKEA do some blinds that are sort of cardboard they are only about a fiver but people are raving about them check on fb on diy on a budget you will find lots of posts on these.
