Help with french door blinds/curtains!

I have french doors with narrow side panels in my living room and the sun is always shining through which is lovely, but how we’ve had to lay the room out means the sun is permanently shining on the tv so you can’t see it.

We have curtains in holdbacks there which are more just to dress the window, as they are our old living room ones and could do with being wider. I don’t like having them shut during the day just so the tv can be seen.

I would of liked the fitted Venetian style fitted blinds to match the rest of my windows, however when I looked last night it didn’t seem possible to get them for the narrow size of the window panels.

The next temporary option was to use a tension rod in the door alcove (?) and hang white voile panel curtains in it. That way they could be kept pushed back and just drawn when needed. But will voile curtains stop the sun sneer or would this look absolutely hideous?!

Sorry for the rambling, I’ve had all about 3 hours sleep! Grin

Can you get perfect fit blinds?

Unknown2020 · 01/04/2020 07:43

That is what I hoped for, however my side panels are only W23cm and the minimum they can be is W26cm on blinds to go.

I read a blog where they'd used a dust sheet. Sounds awful but seemed to work well. It's here.

I wouldn’t of guessed they were dust sheets! But I can’t even sew a button on properly let alone have the skills for that Grin
