Dulux Emerald Glade - Am I mad?

Seem to have embarked on a entire flat renovation somehow..

I really love the dulux Emerald glade colour, planning to paint the very large master bedroom in it. Am I mad to go for such a dark colour (never have before)? The room has picture rails maybe 2/3 of the way up in white satin and a white ceiling. DP prefers a very dark room to sleep in anyway, but I'm not feeling the dark duck egg it's painted now. We have lightish grey carpets and full length massive black blackout curtains. Furniture is old pine and reclaimed wood. The room is pretty sparse tbh and needs a lot in terms of homey touches.

Will I regret it? Already done a tester pot on paper and it's lovely..

I guess it's only paint and can be painted over again if you don't like it!

I'm a firm believer in going for what you fancy and to hell with any rules. So if you like it, go for it.

If I was going for a dark bedroom colour I'd probably leave the picture rail and the section of wall above it in white, so that the white of the ceiling comes down the walls a bit, if that makes sense.

If you do it, we need pics!

Yes that's what I was wondering as well above the picture rail (have done just that in my almost finished toy story toddler room)! The ceiling is pure brilliant white, so not sure if it should be the same, or a warm white like I've picked for the hallway?

Can't believe I'm painting again, we've not even been here 3 years, but it looks tired already. Maybe I just picked things badly the first time round in the rush.

It’s a beautiful colour and I think it would look fab in a bedroom.

Go for it! It is a fab colour. I'm thinking along same lines: emerald glade, teal tension or teal ripple. It's for north west facing bedroom.

I'd go for it, paint up to the picture rail. Can you paint your furniture white or a pale grey? That will brighten the dark green.

I think dark colours are very on trend OP, I love them!

I think it works very well in high ceiling rooms, which you have by the sound of it, so I would do it.

Actually I'm going to be brave and get some fancy furniture paint for the bedside cabinets, either white or something bright! Definitely going to go for it!

This looks a bit like what you are suggesting. It's dulux proud peacock though
