Will it be a nightmare to clean this chair?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new living room chair but not being leather or vinyl, I imagine it would be v hard to clean? One bit of red wine or tea and it's all over. Does anyone know how easy it is to clean a chair like this, or is it really only any good with a throw over it?
I do like the comfort of the chair, otherwise I'd opt for another.

Can you spray it with some sort of stain repellent?

It wouldn't be any more difficult to clean than a normal fabric sofa and chair?

I've had cream sofas for over 10 years now and they look pretty good - the odd mark I suppose, but nothing drastic. Do you have messy kids or muddy dogs etc?

Can't it be Scotchguarded or something?
We bought a fabric sofa last year and have 2 kids and a dog. So far all good, the spillages get mopped up immediately and I'll steam clean it once it starts to look grubby.

It is dark fabric though.

Is it that actual chair? It's awfully expensive imo despite the claim that it's in the sale! But to answer the question any normal carpet/upholstery cleaner should remove marks perfectly well.

Yes, the store does seem a tad overpriced. Must admit I'm struggling to find a decent chair - stuff in John Lewis will be towards a grand.

The fabric is not dark, it's light grey. The photo came out darker I guess.

Never knew of the whole stain repellent thing, Scotchguarding so will research, thanks! Does it change the texture of it?
No, no messy kids or dogs, just sods law tendency that matchmakes the first glass on a bottle of Malbec with new upholstery!
