Ottoman beds?

I'm looking to buy an ottoman storage bed as I need to maximise storage in my small house. If you have one, would you recommend it? And where did you get it from? Ideally would need the storage bit to be quite deep, and not sharp corners (ikea no good)

Thanks!

Hi, OP - I don't have one, but we're likely to be getting one so have done a lot of research which I'm happy to share.

We looked at two suppliers. Neither are cheap, but we wanted something quite specific. The suppliers are Button and Sprung, and Furl.

Both companies do gorgeous beds, extremely good quality and I'd be happy with either from that point of view. However, when we're ready to buy, we'll probably go with Furl, because:

  1. They have some models where the storage is angled so you can't tell it's an ottoman. This makes it look less 'blocky', which I hope will make the room feel more spacious. You lose a bit of storage with this option, but it will suit us much better.
  2. They dismantle smaller. We have access issues, and there was some concern that we wouldn't get the Button and Sprung beds up the stairs as the slatted section is all one piece. The Furl team made a point of stressing that it all dismantles to the extent that if you can get them into any room you can walk into.

I have one from danelli- great quality, quick delivery and good price - would recommend

Great info, thanks. The room is very small, I am worried about it looking blocky and dominating the room so the furl sounds like a good option, will check all the brands mentioned out. I'd really like something on legs but I think that might be asking too much!

Shock the 'air' from furl is lovely. And on legs!

Yes, I think the Air is the one we would get. The compromise is less storage, but that would be fine for us.

I have one from Next (the one with the button headboard) and it's nice, but I hate that it's flat to the floor.

We got this one from Bensons Beds couple months ago.

www.bensonsforbeds.co.uk/your-bed-your-way-symmetry-headboard/

It came in multiple boxes so we had no problem getting it upstairs. The inside space is also completely open with no support stands so you aren't restricted on the size of things you want to store. Another plus point is that the headboard I slightly reclined and padded so lovely for sitting up in bed.
