Wide shallow windows - how to dress them?

Help! Has anyone got any suggestions for these windows?

I feel that curtains would look a bit strange (either short or long), but that could be because I don't like the curtains the previous occupant had.

I like Roman Blinds, and was thinking of having 3, but would they let in too much light between the gaps? Also, would I split them equally or have two smaller ones each side and a larger one in the middle (to match the window panes)?

Next door have the same windows and wooden horizontal blinds. I have had these in my last 2 houses and fancied a change.

Any ideas gratefully received!

I think I would use blinds and also curtains. A skinny rail holding up long decorative curtains. Blinds to keep light out, curtains to soften.

I would have floor length curtains - when I had similar windows in a previous property, I found that it helped to improve the proportions.

Floor-length curtains would look nice, but would block the heat from the radiator, so a no-go I would say. @Newnamewhodis1's suggestion probably the best one!

A roman blind fitted on the outside of the window.

I have ordered a few from web blinds recently, and they’re good value.
