Lighting inspiration pls! Get your photos out!

Hi all,

We’ve moved into a house built in the 30’s, it is an old cottage feel from the outside, with high ceilings inside, quite dark. I could go with some inspiration on some amazing ceiling lights and lamps pls!! I’ve looked in stores and online and I’m still going around in circles. Looking for porch, lounge/diner, hallway and landing really.

Do you want traditional or contemporary? Light fittings or light shades?

Probably leaning away from contemporary, although like latest trends - industrial etc...Fittings and shades really!

We have an older home with highish ceilings.

Heathfield and Rothschild and Bickers are two companies that do amazing light fittings (though expensive). Rothschild and Bickers are a smallish UK based firm and have lovely personal service and offer great advice (in my experience). Heathfield have to be ordered through a supplier.

It's worth looking at BHS lighting online. I've had a couple of light fittings from there.

I have this in the hall of my 1930's house (BHS, but not available any more unfortunately). It seemed a nice mix of traditional a contemporary. It's has the LED low energy bulbs replacement for halogen ones and gives really great light
