Carpet door bars - is it with paying more?

Hoping for advice:

We are getting new carpet on landing and need new door bars. Options are:

• standard, dull aluminium with grooves. I don’t like the way they look but would you even notice. We have shiny chrome door handles so they wouldn’t match.
• expensive brass ones that are chrome plated but involve an extra £100 - eek!
• cheaper online chrome ones - aluminium with chrome finish.

Any advice welcome!

I think I'd go for the aluminium chrome-finish ones. They'll get scratched and scuffed over time no matter what they're made of, so I don't think I'd bother paying extra for the brass ones. But I agree they need to match the door handles.
