Eggshell, gloss or Satin wood finishes?

I know everyone has white eggshell these days but I’ve always liked satin or gloss. I’ve got the decorators in at the moment and they’ve already done the entire upstairs all in white eggshell, as builders do. What are the pros and cons of eggshell or satin wood? If you have opinions I’d be grateful to hear them. Thank you so much.

Eggshell, modern matt. Gloss, durable, washable, hard wearing, looks dated. Satin, compromise.

If painting it myself I'd choose eggshell every time as its much easier to work with.
