Help me revamp my lounge

I would really like to fully revamp my lounge. I have a fireplace without a surround but has a wrought iron fire basket sitting in neutral tiles. I wouldn't want to change that, neither would I want to replace my identical 2 & 3 seater sofa's which are grey, picture attached. Also the carpet is in great shape and the room often is cold so I want to keep that which is a neutral oatmeal/cream colour. Apart from that curtains/walls/everything else can be replaced or painted, ie I have wooden sofa tables that can be painted or distressed accordingly but I have no idea how to put a room together. I visit Ikea and see their room settings and they look so amazing yet my house is so bland

It's currently grey sofa, maroon/darker red curtains with gold thread pattern, home made art on the walls and wooden table/tv unit and mirror on the fireplace wall

Suggestions please - I was wondering if lilac might go well with what I have or duck egg blue but that feels a bit dated as that was an in colour a few years ago.

My house is an old turn of the century period house with large decorative cornice, no beams so I'd like to keep it more on the traditional side rather than sleek and modern clean lines.

Put a picture of your living room on it will be easier to say from how it is now than how you want it.

What about something like this - pale lavender walls and your grey sofas. Accessorise with new blinds and/or curtains and other soft furnishings to bring it all together.

I think pale green would be nice, or a duck egg that veers more towards green than blue. I think that's called Robins egg if I recall correctly. Or look at some of the eau De nil shades, Laura Ashley do a lovely one in three colour depths from memory.

I think something like Dusted Fondant by Dulux, with similar tones curtains, would look cosy and go well with your existing furnishings. The darker w all is Dusted Fondant.

I love F&B oval room blue or something close to it (Crown period colours may have something similar). It looks gorgeous in different lights and works with whites, neutrals, browns, greys and gold.

Meant to say I'm not such a fan of pale sugared almond colours - they always look a bit little-girlish to me (sorry) especially lilac Grin

I like some of the dusky/orange toned pinks that are currently in style but they tend to work better with hard floors, vibrant greens (e.g. plants), midcentury furniture and touches of yellow/blue.

It's late and I must be tired...

I read your thread title as "Help me revenge my lamp"
