Hello, first post ever here!:)
I've got teenage kids - and considering covering the new sofa is sofa.com's "smart velvet" pale grey...which they are telling me is one of their most child friendly stain friendly fabrics! Is this really true...has anyone got any experience of this?

Hi chantal73,

It sounds lovely but sadly we can't offer any inside knowledge on that particular brand or fabric.

We wanted to give this a bump for you so we hope some of our users will be here soon to offer you their advice.

Can you order samples? I did this when ordering off made.com and poured stuff all over their samples. Their velvet held up pretty well actually. Be sure to test for yoghurt though, it’s a bitch to clean.

I have two Izzy sofas in grey smart velvet, and it does repel water etc. I think it's a great fabric choice, especially with young DC. That being said, I do keep them covered in additional sofa covers which I bought from Amazon, just to keep them in better condition until they are older. Hope that helps!

I should add that there was a ketchup stain once when there were no covers on them and we got that out pretty easily. The suggestion from pp about the fabric samples. Their stores have every colour/fabric swatch which you can take home with you. I took loads before setting on the smart velvet.
