Hi,
Looking to get a portrait of my wee dog soon. I would love to know how to do a
Mumsnet poll but can't seem to find out how to add one - I'm using the app, maybe I need to be desktop to create polls?

What style of portrait do you prefer? I love them both but as my house is new and modern I think the first one?
Ps these are just the examples, not my doggies / work!

Thank you

I'd get a photograph not a picture.

newhousegal · 09/01/2020 16:24

@MikeUniformMike thanks - I have loads of photographs of her and I think she would be stressed by professional photo shoot. I really wanted a portrait drawing / painting. Thanks for reply though

Prefer the first.

newhousegal · 09/01/2020 16:28

@Spied thank you!

@Spied that one is also about 1/4 of the piece of the other so that's good!

I prefer the first too.

JoJoSM2 · 09/01/2020 16:32

I don’t think I’d hang up either but I’d choose the first if I had to.

BumbleBumbleBumbleLies · 09/01/2020 16:36

First one

newhousegal · 09/01/2020 16:55

@JoJoSM2 thanks - think you would feel differently if it was your pet in the artwork maybe? I am obsessed with my dog - these are just examples. Can not wait to get my dog drawn. Thanks to those who have responded

Don't know if the last link posted the actual example portrait in more traditional style. When I click the link it just brings me to the page not the actual post. m.facebook.com/petportraitsRObArt/photos/a.156456075037305/463742217642021/?type=3&source=54&ref=page_internal

Prefer these, think the personality of the animals come across better.

Out of those two styles I prefer the doodle-y one, think it's cute.

If you wanted a more realistic/traditional drawing, I would definitely have a look at instagram.com/kateelgoodillustration (sorry, know you wanted us to help reduce your choice, not add to it... But I love her work!)

newhousegal · 09/01/2020 18:42

@goldpendant those are lovely - I like the backgrounds too

Could you upload photos here - I don’t open FB links.

If not, no worries...get both!! She’s worth it - so are you!

newhousegal · 09/01/2020 18:43

@Lellochip those are stunning portraits, she looks very expensive though. Amazing work, thanks for sharing

Those Dani Williams illustrations are delightful :)

This guy's work doesn't seem to be quite what you're looking for (and I have no idea what he charges) but they're excellent.
