Help me design my living room (diagram)

I am starting from scratch with my living room.

I would like to have a modern design woodburning stove, possibly where the TV is currently situated. The beam (square and plastered) is from the original external wall and goes through the middle of the ceiling and sticks out slightly from the walls. There are two radiators (not shown) on the same wall as the living room door.

I am also thinking about having some fitted wall furniture made and new furniture. I have no idea about design so would appreciate some ideas.

I’d start by thinking how you’re going to use the room. How many people use the space (so you know how many sofas or chairs you need), is it just sitting or also dining, do you have lots of books/musical instruments/game consoles? Do you need a play or a study area? And so on.

Once it’s a bit clearer who and how is going to use the room, it’s just a case of working out how much storage and what furniture you need and the arrangement of it.

It is a living space only so just sitting watching TV for the most part. No gaming, eating or studying. DC are adults (only 1 lives at home) - generally, no more than 5 people use the living room - more if I have guests
