HELP Will my new sofa get softer?

After months of searching my new sofa arrived yesterday. I tried loads in different stores and this one seemed like a good compromise as far as size, price and comfort goes.

The size and style are great in my house but the sofa is much firmer than I remember. It doesn’t help that I was used to sitting on a saggy old sofa.

I’ve already told myself that if I don’t like it in a month or so I can sell it on Gumtree but obviously I’d rather not.

Some online research shows that others have had the same happened and that their sofas have softened after a ‘breaking in’ period. Does anyone have any experience with the same issue?

The only saving grace is that the sofa was on special and wasn’t super expensive to start with.

Sofa’s will soften over time, they’re a lot like mattresses in that sense.

Try not to worry about it, just invite lots of people round to sit on it 🤣

It will don't worry. You could always pad it out with a quilt and pretty quilt cover in the mean time. Plus have the added bonus of a blanket for a nap.

It’s softer already. Of course now I’m worried it will be too soft!

Looks like the sofa is staying Smile

Yes it will definitely soften over time, I had felt the same when we got ours but it’s very comfortable yet still firm.
