Colour scheme for one bedroom flat

My DS is moving into his first flat in a few weeks. He has already taken possession, but is having a new bathroom and some other bits and pieces. DP and I have offered to decorate for him, but I'm a bit stumped. I know he'll want it ultra modern. Any ideas? It's just the bedroom and living room.

I recommend F&b ammonite (obvs not actual f&b, get it matched) with white architraves/doors etc. It's beautiful, simple white grey and works well in North or South facing rooms.
Equaly we have a small North facing room in stuff key blue (basically navy) with white ceilings, doors and woodwork and it looks fantastic and surprisingly classic.

Strangely I was about to at ammonite and satin white. A classic I use in my flats and everyone loves it.

Dulux Goose Down is a beautiful pale grey and suits any room. White woodwork (prefer satin to gloss).

Then add touches of colour in the accessories (navy throw on the bed, mustard cushions in the lounge etc). A fake pot plant in each room. Nice lamps.
