How cheaply can I get a new bathroom?

The whole bathroom needs re-doing. We've lived here for 15 years, and prior to that, I think nothing had been done for at least 20 yrs.
I'm not looking for high end - just basic suite, shower, floor and walls.
What do you think my minimum budget should be?

Well it depends how good you want it to look, how big your bathroom is,whether you just need materials and will do the work yourselves or you'll hire someone etc.

We've done a small one ourselves for just under £500. It looks that way too, especially after not being updated in 10 years.

We got a lovely bathroom from wickes for around £500 and my OH fitted it himself. To have wickes fit it was absolutely extortionate!

How much diy can you do? Do you want completely strip out and start again? Or just freshen with a coat of paint? My h could strip out and start again for around £750 minimum for a small bathroom but he can do the work. If you add labour it will be a lot more.
