Can I put memory foam mattress on a divan base?

In the process of moving and I've already bought an Emma memory foam mattress. My preference is for a wooden frame, which is what we currently have for most of our beds, but they can get a bit creaky. This time I want a super king and I'm worried that the extra width will lead to more creaking.

I'm happy to go for a divan but I always thought memory foam needed to be on a slatted base to let it breathe properly (though not sure why that wouldn't be the case for all mattresses). Any thoughts? Any recommendations?!

I bought an Eve superking mattress and put in on my old divan base. It's absolutely fine.

A memory foam mattress is fine on a divan base.

A sprung base is going to make the bed feel different than a rigid base. But whether it's a divan or a frame makes little difference.
