How do I bring it all together?

I am living in a lovely period home (not mine). Walls of the sitting room are a sort of grey with maybe a hint of brown (possibly this: www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/hardwick-white).
The deep skirting board and ceiling and top part of wall is all white. The large fireplace has been blocked up and painted white.
None of my furniture goes. It all looks a mish mash and the room just looks a bit... Scruffy rather than a lovely period room.
How can I bring it all together?

What coloured furniture do you have? Can you invest in some different cushions for instance to tie the colours together? Failing that, would you be allowed to repaint?

I think its the furniture that s the issue here! I have a navy chaise, cream chaise, brown sofa, red chair. Cushions maybe a goer! The curtains covering the huge window are cream with green leaves on them. It would be great to match them with a cushion but I have NO IDEA where to get them?!

Maybe cover some of the furniture with cream throws?

Dunelm is always good for furnishings or maybe Wayfair. Maybe go for autumn colours for a period home?
