Help me dress this box bay window

Not the best pic, nabbed from property particulars. We've exchanged and move in soon.

We have two of these, one in the lounge and one in the sitting room. My thinking:

  • Shutters are beautiful, but may not work with the teeny side windows. Also might make the room dark? Plus ££££
  • Venetian blinds? Not sure if this would look clumsy?
  • Unsure how a curtain rail would work, plus less flexibility/privacy

I'm quite lost. Please help!

I am a fan of a big heavy curtain hiding a secret window seat reading nook but may have just read too much Jane Eyre. Bumping this for you OP.

@Waitrosescheapestvodka Roman Blinds would look good or Curtains and a Pelmet with wooden venetians/roman blinds. Depends on the look you want. I am not a fan of shutters as I find them very cold looking.

Plain roller bling plus a bay window pole which bends round the shape of the window. John Lewis sell them. Then you have curtains in the corners when open, and pull round in all directions at night.

How wide are the side windows and do they open? If I couldn't fit shutters on all the windows, I'd put them on the centre one and put curtains that sort of blend into the wall on the side windows from the top of the top window to the bottom of the bottom window.

We currently have roller blinds in our bedroom and often don't open them for privacy Blush I think I'm more inclined towards venetians or shutters. Has anyone fitted these on a tiny window?

Just to note: a bay window pole with bendy joints and bypass rings will NOT work in that bay.

I don't like venetian blinds - they get very dusty and hard to clean! Three separate roman blinds, in a plain fabric, would look fabulous framed by the architrave around your windows. combined with a pair of patterned curtains hung across the front of the bay.
Is there enough room in the bay for a small chair?
