Neutral paint to go with grey woodwork?

I’m just halfway through decorating my hallway and need to change the wall colour. I’ve painted the woodwork a mid grey. For the walls I went with F&B Slipper Satin which is supposed to be neutral. The F&B website says it can come up as a chalky grey. On my walls it’s magnolia! It clashes horribly with the grey and just looks a bit bleurgh.

So I need a new colour urgently 😫. I don’t want white as that’s what I’ve had for years and I didn’t really want yet more grey. Any suggestions?

It’s a very gloomy aspect with no direct sunlight so that doesn’t help matters.

Try Farrow and Ball Shadow White or the slightly darker Shaded White. I am currently painting the living room and hall with them - really lovely neutral, grey with olive green tones in some lights, Stone-beige without any yellow tones in others

Or Dulux dusted moss, a similar grey with deeper green tones
