We're updating our bedroom and want to put wardrobes on either side of our chimney breast, there's space for 200cm one side and 125cm the other, each with 10cm to which means Pax will fit in nicely. DH and I are just dithering over doors/finishes etc and need help so we can make final decisions and order!

The walls are painted a warm grey/blue with the picture rail and above painted white. We have high ceilings so can comfortably fit the tallest ones but they would go higher than the picture rail and we can't decide if that would look odd?

We were thinking white Bergso or grimo doors and are undecided whether to go for white or oak frames. Would love any advice!

Thinking of doing the same in our bedroom - currently have a pax on one (wider) side of chimney breast with an odd corner pad added on - it doesn't work.
Sadly our picture rails have been ripped out by previous owners, I don't think it matters if your pax goes above this?
I wondered about trying to make ours look 'built in' by adding further cupboard / moulding at the top. If you search on Pinterest there seems to be a lot on this - seems quite a popular look in the US.
Not sure re. Doors. I quite like the sliding ones but am not at the stage of picking them yet... need to line and paint the walls first Confused

I know it's an expensive option but how about getting fitted wardrobes?

Just got some and they look amazing.

Thanks for your replies. Looking at free standing over built In for a few reasons, the wall is north facing external and previously had condensation/mould problems with our old built in wardrobes. We've got space to put in an en-suite and free standing keeps that option open to us. There is also the difference in cost, but I like the idea of adding moulding to give a built in look. Unfortunately not wide enough for sliding doors on the smaller side.
