Looking for ideas for pictures etc

We've recently moved to a new house and I'm looking for any ideas to decorate the living room. It's very bare at present. This wall (photo attached) is the wall I especially need help with. I was thinking plants and pictures or a big clock. The room is quite dark and the photo even with the light and lamps on and the flash looks dark.

what about a big clock like this OP? or something like this maybe? also, could i ask where you bought that chair? I have been looking for one to fit into our bedroom and that looks lovely

I'm a big fan of house plants; in that location you'd need something that tolerates low light eg peace lilies.

Sorry I thought I sent a message back but must have lost it somehow!!

sleep Love the clock and it's funny but we were talking about a very similar kind of clock earlier. Love the picture frames too.

errol thanks for the tip re peace lilies, gorgeous plants, I didn't know they didn't need much light.

This is another part of the room. I have no idea how to make it look nice. Would love suggestions.

Oh sleep i did answer your question about the chair but it was on the message I lost!! It was from Wayfair and there are several similar chairs but I can't remember which one it was. I think Octavia but I can't be sure. It's a lovely comfortable chair which eventually will end up in my bedroom.

i would be tempted to leave that wall bare, but someone i know hung these up and filled them like the pictures and it looks fantastic

For near the telly, I'd get a floor lamp, maybe - one like this or this

Or a tall plant in a planter like this or this?

MerryInthechelseahotel · 28/10/2019 23:08

I love those plant pots SwedishEdith very much! Loving all your suggestions

What about a large mirror (first pic) and a tall plant either side of the TV?

MerryInthechelseahotel · 31/10/2019 21:20

What do you think of this? I really like the mirror from Next. The pictures are just cheap from the range but I quite like it! Still got to tackle round the TV

That looks lovely and very inviting

Looks great!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 03/11/2019 20:41

oh i love it op, it looks very inviting

MerryInthechelseahotel · 03/11/2019 21:59

Thank you! I like it! I'm still struggling with round the TV. I have a little crawling toddler who is in to everything so can't have plants or anything that can tip over.
