Sulking room pink, help required

So, I'm painting the sitting room. It has to be done as it was separated from the dining room and there is a bare plaster wall, which I've been living with for 3 months now.
I've decided in sulking room pink for the chimney breast wall and can't decide on a colour for the other 3 walls. We have a cream leather sofa and chocolate brown carpet that wont be changing.
In the pictures the top one is F&B peignoir and the bottom crown Aimee.
Opinions please Smile

I'd just do the whole room Sulking Room Pink but that's because I adore it!

ShakespearesSisters · 25/10/2019 22:31

Well, I was thinking about that but I'm not sure I'd get my husband to agree, took a lot of persuasion to get the one wall!
It is a south facing room so shouldn't feel dark unless its properly gloomy outside when it feels cold with my current magnolia and duck egg chimney breast (which is lovely and fresh in the sunshine)
Do you have sulking room pink in your house @StormBaby ?

Yes why not go the whole way with the colour you are most sure about ?

ShakespearesSisters · 26/10/2019 08:07

Going to spend the day working on my husband, although when asked, my girls (age 5 and 7), both said they liked peignoir best, argh. Decisions, decisions.

My whole ‘snug’ has been done in Sulking Room and it looks absolutely amazing. It’s only about 11 ft x 11 ft but it isn’t overkill at all. Such a sexy, sophisticated colour!

DonkeyHotty · 26/10/2019 08:11

I’ll pm you some pictures if you like?

DonkeyHotty · 26/10/2019 08:11

If pms have that facility...

DonkeyHotty · 26/10/2019 08:13

Ps ours is a south facing room too. What I love about it is that it’s pink by day but a more browny colour in the evening. Its mood adapts according to the light. I’ve had so many compliments on it and no regrets at all!

To be fair, five and seven year olds aren't generally known for their interior design flair,,😁

ShakespearesSisters · 26/10/2019 10:34

Haha to the five and seven year old design flair, you are quiet right.
@DonkeyHotty, I'd love some pictures if you can send them. Thank you.

I'm considering painting a few walls - top floor hall and bedroom - in a similar colour 'ashes of roses' but I do like sulking room pink. I just don't love the chalkiness of F&B and find it difficult to work with.

ShakespearesSisters · 26/10/2019 11:31

I'm using the colour matched one from Crown. It's going to be done in clean extreme which has been fantastic in the kitchen/family room. The kids dirty hand prints come off so easily.

@shakespearessisters I don't have it in my house yet, but it is one of my favourites, we went with a gorgeous navy alongside Setting Plaster in the end. For what it's worth, the darker the colour the bigger the space will feel, most people think lighter us better but it's just not true.

bluebluezoo · 26/10/2019 11:36

I want a sulking room!

tomboytown · 26/10/2019 23:02

I've got calamine with my SR pink

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 26/10/2019 23:09

I’ve got dead salmon on one wall in my bedroom which is similar to SRP. The rest are Dimity, I love the colours together. Dimity is a creamy/grey/pale pink depending on the time of day and light.

dudsville · 26/10/2019 23:19

I want to meet the person naming these colours

TheClitterati · 02/11/2019 19:34

My friends have a SRP living room. It's never a colour I would pick from a sample, but I really love it.

Grinchly · 02/11/2019 19:48

I've recently repainted my kitchen in Marital Argument Teal.
We love it

Ok, I went for it and now I have a sulking pink room, was planning on a teal velvet Chesterfield as a new sofa rather than my cream leather sofa. But, what colour curtains? It's a big bay window and will need to be a 240cm drop if I go to the floor. The curtains will be mainly hidden by 2 chairs and a table in the bay, do you think have shorter ones so I have more choice as I was going to find some 108" drop and shorten. Work is still in progress on the skirting boards.

Wow that is stunning!!!

Marcipex · 15/11/2019 00:25

Oh it’s like old lady make up

tomboytown · 16/11/2019 13:47

I'm toying with the idea of doing my entire bedroom
I love it, but not sure it's because it's on this patterned wallpaper
I don't think the colour can be captured in photos
In real life it much more purpley than brown I think
It's lovely
I'd think about a patterned curtain and I like short curtains, but I think Mumsnet hate then

it looks lovely op Smile
I've been toying with it for my bedroom, don't want the f&b one so will go for a colour match unless anyone can recommend a good dupe!
